Why can’t I delete a date?
Date fields are not all required fields. However, once you have entered a date in a field, you may not leave that field blank. To fix this, simply enter the date 01/01/2050. This date is far enough ahead that the system won’t recognize that it is there and all reports are written to consider this date as a null field. [TOP]

What does Invalid Parameter mean?
Many reports are now “hard wired” so that the parameter field will default to the current payroll dates. If you get this message, go into Crystal/reports/reportname.rpt and look at Insert/Parameter:

• Check date should be Check_date except in Payroll Register (checkdate)
• begin date should be Beg_date
• end date should be End_date [TOP]
  

What does “Database out of Kilter” mean?
This message means that someone has been deleted from glname/nam_addr. There is a record somewhere in the software trying to do a lookup to glname, and it cannot find the corresponding record. Call ETS for assistance. [TOP]

Why are my reports selecting the wrong dates?
Check out My Computer/Control Panel/Regional Settings/Date/Short Date Style — should be MM/dd/yyyy (01/31/01- should be 01/31/2001) [TOP]

If your databases are on a server, local machine didn’t reconnect at the startup. Restart your machine and make sure you connect to the server. [TOP]
